
INSTRUCTOR PROFILES

DAWN KARLON
Dawn has a history in Competitive Natural Bodybuilding and fitness
for the last 25 years. She is certified in Pilates and teaches Matwork
and Reformer (equipment-based) privates and small group sessions
since 2002.
She is also a certified Level 1 Intern with Meridian Strength & Stretch
Conditioning , and is a Kettlebell instructor (Stotte Pilates).
She has RKC (Russian Kettlebell Challenge) Certification.
Dawn feels that these three disciplines
all Mind-Body work,
are the perfect blend to give her clients a total fitness program.
Muscular strength, endurance and cardiovascular benefit, flexibility,
and even inner organ enhancement and better breath control all work
together for the most optimal body function.
Dawn is also the first out-of-State coach working directly under
Kara Lubin and her 100 mile club promoting fitness in the
school district with incentives,
rewards, and personal goals.
She is using the Special Needs Kids as
a template for this project.
Dawn's past interests and certifications include firefighting and
EMT and education in the Medical Assistant program.

ANNETE BARKER
Annette Barker started her love for Pilates in 2003 while attending LifeStyle Pilates classes with Dawn Karlon.
In 2004, she decided to pursue instructor training in Mat principles with Movement Education in Chicago, IL.
She has been teaching Pilates Mat class for the past 4 years. This year she has added the Essential
and Intermediate Reformer Training through the Midwest STOTT In Minniapolis, MN, and is testing for Certification.
Annette is the mother of three and works as a Nurse Practitioner with SMDC Health System.
Other interests include practicing Yoga and alternative health and nutrition therapies.
