Lifestyle Pilates is now offering KETTLEBELL class
Kettlebells are similar to an iron cannonball with a handle.
They have been around since the 1700s and were used by Russian
Olympians for strength training. In the 1980s they were introduced to the US.
Kettlebell training is a mind / body workout in which the Kettlebell is
used for endurance, flexibility, and strength training. The whole body
receives benefit and quickly responds in positive ways. The shape
of the Kettlebell is such that it flows with the body's natural movements,
providing more functional enhancement while utilizing several muscle
groups for each movement pattern.
Kettlebell training works well with Pilates on alternate days,
or for those who are ready for a heavier load. Those who have
not had Pilates training will also learn to connect mind to body
in order to gain strength in stabilization, large muscle groups,
flexibility, agility, core control, breath control,
and endurance / heart enhancement.
